Wed 7th May A2's. A small group of 5 riders left the Olympic for the Three Parks Challenge. Maybe not as difficult as the Three Peaks version but we topped out at 864 feet (which is higher than anything Kent can boast) so there was a fair amount of climbing nevertheless. The route planning was made difficult by Barry swapping dates (not a problem) Simon pinching my route (we've had words) and the Botley Hill Farmhouse suddenly deciding to close on Wednesdays in May. Apparently they're not busy enough. The route was Swanley Park, Sheepcote Lane, Skibbs Lane, Poverest Road, Jubilee Park, Bromley Common, Norman Park, Old Hayes, Lahams Road (full) & Beddlestead Lane before dropping down into Tatsfield. Now…

Wed 7th May. 5 A 1s set off from the Olympic to the Darenth Valley, then rode over the hill to the Fawkham Valley and over another hill to Hartley Bottom. We climbed up the downs through Stansted but on the descent of Exedown I suffered a blowout. Wed 7th May, B1 ride.

Seven riders enjoyed bright but cool conditions for a tour of the lanes less travelled from Swanley to Shorne Country Park. The cafe was pleasantly free of beastly children, and sausage sandwiches were a popular option, served with great efficiency.

Conversation encompassed; global politics, global share prices, and breast enhancement surgery. Not necessarily in that order.

Present; Joe Mc, Tim Mc, Malcolm Mc, Trevor S, Liz B, Ken D, Bob S.

A2 ride 30.4.25

Barry Barlow, Mick Cleary, Neville Hazel, Roger Marshall, Peter Martinelli, Graham Parkinson, Ron B and Junior from the A1's and new boy Steve came for a second ride, despite the treatment he endured last time! More later....

We rode to Cudham and then through Biggin Hill to Warlingham, mainly on good but busy lanes. The objective was to get to the private no-through road (for cars) that runs South from Halliloo Valley Road to Gangers Hill and I think it was worth the effort because this road is fabulous. From there we continued East to Botley Hill and then headed North on Beddlestead Lane and on to The White Bear in Fickeshole for lunch. Barry wasn't k…
