Eight riders started the B2 ride to Ye Old Ship in Tatsfield, our route wnet via Eynsford, Crockenhill,

Well Hill down to Chelsfield. Riders out today with me were Peter W, Linda K, Paul Mc, Di , Keith P and 2 Daves C and S. We dropped down to the Green St Green roundabout and up Cudham Lane to Knockholt, here we lost 5 riders who had appointments in the afternoon or lived just round the corner. The remainder continued to Tatsfield via Chestnut Avenue (most of this has recently been tarmaced). There was a good choice of food with a selection of different soups.

We then returned via High Elms Lane and Farnborough village.

A good Easter turnout of Graham Parkinson, Barry Barlow, Mick Cleary, Peter Martinelli, Chris Torbet-Smith & myself for the A2 ride to The Chequers, Laddingford.

From LVC we headed to Knole Park, down Carters Hill, and then rolled on eastwards, Barry peeling off at Mote Road. There were orchards in blossom between Hadlow and East Peckham, and at the Chequers the cherries were a fine sight in the garden. We were warmly welcomed for our lunch, there was a good selection of light bites and baguettes - we all enjoyed our choice. Mick kindly shared his cheese toasties, which were even more generously provisioned with garlic!

We returned through Plaxtol & Ivy Hatch, anticipating a coffee at The Italian at…

A stronger turnout (x8) for the A1s yesterday. Which was probably due to the promised sun, but may also have been the excitement of a strong blustery wind. Knats Valley tested our stamina, and a reversing car with trailer on a very narrow blind corner just past Heaverham tested everyone's emergency breaking and road rage skills. Fortunately no damage done. So it was up Water Lane, (where Rob B., and Dom H. peeled off) over Gracious Bridge and down Bayleys where those wind resistance skills got fully tested.

On the ride were Chris S., Tony R., Martin G., Ian M., and Junior (who had his first ride in 3 years - apparently still as fit as ever), and once in…

Good to see that this facility is being used to good effect.

Two enhancements that might not be immediately obvious.

  1. By clicking on the icon shown, it is possible to adjust the size of the pic (ie. make it smaller)

  2. It is also possible to add a short video to reports

NB. By adding '##' to this note it will stop it cluttering up members' Inboxes with unwanted emails.

Meridian P1 Ride, 16/04/2025

Eight Prems met at LVC planning a return to the Pied Bull at Farningham to see if the warmer weather had also raised the temperature at the pub. Light rain showers were kissing the lower slopes of the North Downs as we headed out along the Filston rollers, raising some initial doubts about clothing choices however the sun soon made a welcome return, although the blustery wind made its presence felt all day.

We continued along the Pilgrims through Wrotham to Trottiscliffe where the previous week’s road closure was unfortunately still in force. I must confess as Ride Leader that I should have anticipated and thought of an alternative, but instead we trusted to the cycling…
